[font=microsoft sans serif]i'm 27 years old and just quit my deadend job. i have a small child and husband. he is still working but i need to get a job now. i want to start a career in nursing, but i'm not sure if i should go to a vocational, community college, or 4yr school. what schools have great programs in the washington, d.c. metro area? as of now i'm think i want to be a neonatal nurse or nurse anethetists. what can i do to ensure i get into a department in the hospital that will give me the experience needed to land these kind of careers? most importantly what job can i get now with no experience? please help!!!!
Since you are at the beginning of your journey, I dont know what kind of experience you have but I would look into applying for a ward clerk position at your local hospital while you first work on getting your cna. Ward clerk will give you a taste of md orders and the paperwork aspect of things. Once you get your cna, you will already have your foot in the door and can transition into that role.Good luck....its a long hard journey, but well worth it in the end
