Hi everyone its been a while since I posted. I graduated in June 2008 with my BSN and for personal reasons didn't start working until Oct 2009 in a doctor owned outpatient oncology clinic. IT was the only job I could find in my area that would even consider me as a new grad and I got to really like my job and seeing the same patients from time to time. BUT! I have no benefits, I still to this date have no insurance no 401k Nothing! and I get payed less than the competitive oncology clinics around and overall Its not a good fit anyways I'm not challenged and i don't like the environment of nurses I work with. While in nursing school I did my preceptorship in the MICU and loved it I was constantly busy loved the rush and excitement but with my outpatient experience i cant even get an interview at an oncology floor inpatient! I'm very upset. I feel that I'm never going to be able to work as a hospital nurse with this experience.. Has anyone made a positive transition from outpatient to hospital? I know I should be happy to even have a job but I cant help the way i feel. Thanks for any feedback
