GPAs that can be rounded off to 3.5

I was having a discussion with a member of the faculty at my nursing school, and he encouraged me to apply to a hospital that only want candidates with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. I told him that while my GPA is 3.5 only when rounded off to the nearest tenth, it wasn't EXACTLY 3.5. He told me to apply anyway because as I said it can be rounded off to a 3.5. I thought he was crazy, but another person told me the same thing.

What do you people think? Should people who have GPAs that are technically 3.5 when rounded off apply to hospitals that only want candidates with a minimum 3.5 GPA, or would such individuals be wasting their time? What are your thoughts? I'd like to know.
I don't see anything wrong with applying. All they can do is turn you down, which is the same result as if you didn't apply.
Comment:
if you don't have a 3.5 then you don't. a 3.46 is not a 3.5, no matter how you present it.
