Would refresher courses help my situation?

I acquired my ADN on Fall 2009. After graduation while everybody was gearing up for NCLEX, I was working at a restaurant, why...? because I didn't have proper immigration documents. By the time my legal documents came out (around Winter 2010), I had my first child, took the NCLEX then failed. It was heartbreaking. Although I told myself it must be a blessing in disguise, so I can be a full time mom to my newborn, at least for the first year.

Fast forward to today, I took the NCLEX on June 15, 2011 and passed! The job hunt is brutal!!! (nothing new). I am applying anywhere and everywhere. I know it's barely been 1 1/2 month but I have a feeling the longer I stay unemployed the grimmer my job prospects are going to be.

I am worse off than a new grad.

Although I don't have the money, I am seriously considering taking refresher classes just to have a little edge.

Is it worth it? I don't know anyone who has taken it. I would really appreciate any feedbacks.
