How to accomplish my goal: Become an RN

Hi everybody. I am currently due to start a CNA program next week in hopes to work my way up the ladder and become a Registered Nurse. I have no pre requisites under my belt and im beginning to think this could be a problem for me. I chose CNA as a start because I wanted to gain experience and learn what it takes to handle others in need etc... Once I finish up my class I am going to apply for jobs and work until I can join an LVN program. My final step was to bridge over to RN or BSN. Is this ideal? Can I accomplish anything going this route? I sure hope so.... Any advice? Share your experiences!
Starting out as a CNA is great imo. My nursing program actually required that applicants either had received their certification or had a minimum # of CNA work hrs within the past 18 mos before being accepted into the program. This way students already had a good base to work from & a lot of time didn't have to be spent covering basic care. For me, it was also a short program, just taking a summer semester, & was not too expensive. That way, I could get exposure to what patient care was like & find out pretty quick if I really thought nursing was for me. Good Luck!
