Home health

I am trying very hard to get into home health nursing. I've been a nurse fire 26 years, most of it in GI. I keep getting turned down for jobs due to lack of experience. How do you get that if no one will hire you.
Have you tried to get jobs in extended care home health versus intermittent visit home health? Extended care consists of shift work with established patients who are stable with routine care. While the responsibilities are not as stressful on a day to day basis, and the pay is not that great, it is usually not difficult to get employed in that area.
