what do i do first?

hi guys, i am a registered nurse in trinidad for the past year , and i would really like to work as a rn in new york or other part of the usa. Can someone please give me some advice asto what is my first step towards achieving this goal.
Starting point would be meeting state board of nursing requirements and passing NCLEX. Then if a visa is required allowing you to live and work in the US then I suggest reading the International forum under the world tab above and read up on retrogression. I would also suggest you read the state forums as many nurses already in the US are struggling to find work
