Did you ever take a job even though you never saw yourself working on that unit?

Did you ever take a job even though you never saw yourself working on that unit? How did it turn out for you after the first year? I recently took an ICU job. I never imagined myself in the ICU. Did this happen to anyone? Heck I was just applying for jobs and they had openings there.
