can old dogs learn new tricks?

I have been working in the same ICU for decades. I want to transfer to a new area because I am very burned out. To be more polite, are any of you "seasoned nurses" and have transferred to a new unit? Was it difficult? The job I am considering is in a clinic setting. Change is hard, but things in my unit change almost daily. I should be able to do this. I should be able to learn something new-right?
absolutely...I foresee one possible difficulty. I tried that.. I was bored stiff and returned to the unit.
Comment:
It can seem daunting to leave the routine of the same position.I left one after 14 years. Went on to agency and travel work. Succeeded in 10 different hospitals, then learned utilization management. You see, old dogs can not only learn new tricks, we learn them faster.Good luck.. it's a blast out here.
