I got the transfer!

1 I applied for a transfer from the low acuity ICU to the Behavioral Health department. I interviewed yesterday, and got the job!! It's a float pool position, so I will go between the different units in the department, as well as the psych ER. I get the same pay and benefits I already have, but will do charge nurse sometimes. I get 10-12 weeks of orientation, which includes classroom and preceptorship.

I've wanted to this for a long time, but was nervous to make the switch. But I finally realized I just don't enjoy regular medical nursing anymore. I think I will really like this new job. So excited
So glad you get to relax so to speak, because you are going to enjoy learning your new gig!!!

We are a very special breed us psych nurses; it's not for everyone. Congratulations and FTR bone up on your non-verbal communication. Many times it's not what they verbally say.
