I am just Sad!Rating: (votes: 0) ![]() I think it's OK to feel sad when a patient is dying, especially when you have grown close to them. It shows that you're human and that you're a caring nurse. Make sure to spend your off time doing things you enjoy to try to relieve some stress. You're doing a great job! :heartbeat Comment:
It's ok to be sad and shed a tear..........it just means you care..........and we are here to help you through. What a blessed gift you are for him.

I had a wise Nurse tell me once to always feel as honored to be with the dying as with the newly born, as each stage in life is equally as important to that person's journey. So I try to remember that and hope I have made a difference in the many people I have been with at their end of life. It never gets easy, tears I still cry, but it always humbles me, and makes me reflect on my life, and how precious it truly is. (((hugs))

Sadly when i went to work today my friend had passed. It was truly an honor and a blessing to have him in my life I will never forget him! He was truly an amazing person. I felt a feeling of relief when I found out ...... no more suffering and he is now at rest. ( still very sad though) Rest in Peace Sir!!!!!(Poppi) Love you

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm a hospice nurse and we always included the facility staff as part of the family and honor their grief. Any bereavement services the hospice offers should be available to you if you need it.
