Tait-An Update :)

19 It's been some time since I have been on the AN site, but as a member for quite some time now I thought I might stop by and offer a little update to those staff and members who might be interested

So I switched to day shift (which is crazy since I SWORE I would never leave nights) and I love it! There are definitely things I don't enjoy, like losing my computer spot all the time and crazy discharge days, but overall I am having a lot of fun learning how to navigate the day and keep everyone moving forward!

Another "little" update, my husband and I have finally managed to get (and stay) pregnant! We are currently 17 weeks 3 days today and my morning sickness has finally settled down! Here is a little peek at our 12 week U/S:

Next U/S is February 16th and we should be able to get a gender check! I am partial to a girl, but will take anything with all it's limbs and a healthy little body. So far all of our labs have come back normal and without signs of defects! It is amazing how much of a journey this has been!

Hope everyone is well!

Love,

Tait

PS. I forgot to mention after many months of ICU and nursing home care my Grandmother is finally coming off her vent soon! They are currently discussing removing her trach and sending her home! Last edit by Tait on Jan 27, '11

Congrats with the precious cargo on the way!And I can definitely relate to getting onto days after being on nights. The one good thing I know to be true though, you will treat the night people right when they give morning report and not rake them over the coals! Besides, you'll thank those in the morning for taking your night job! Good luck, carry on.Tip on naming your child, don't let family know! My family turned upside my thoughts regarding a boys name, Milas. My dad said, "That's my middle name and I hate it!" Hard enough to bounce names around with your spouse. I'd come up with a good one and my spouse would say, "Sherry, well I knew a Sherry and she was an idiot!"

Wow, nice to hear about things not only falling into place but going really well! Interesting how you read a post every so often about how someone makes a huge decision against the grain, and then suddenly everything comes up roses in their life. I bet Em (I would love her to someday be an aunt, and get to be called auntie Em!), was waiting for you to switch onto days, as is her preference.

Awesome update! Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations! My daughter's name is Emma Rose. We originally were going to name her Ava, but I read Austen's Emma while I was pregnant and the name stuck.
