Rowan Regional Medical Center telemetry. What's up with all the openings?Rating: (votes: 0) Sounds like a red flag! Comment:
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Oftentimes, if there is a new director, people just cannot adjust, and they leave. They choose an entirely new environment rather than the change in their old one. I worked on a unit for a while that had a mass exodus after their new director came in and cleaned house. In a good way. There had been a lot of favoritism, back stabbing, and cattiness. Certain favorites on days could work whatever schedule they wanted, and had their choice of what department (L&D, nursery, etc), while others had to work all weekends, every holiday, never were given a choice as to which aspect of the department they preferred. She came in and made clear that there would be no more of that crap. Several of the queen bees chose to leave, and believe me, it was a very good thing.Just shared my story to illustrate that a mass exodus or several openings doesn't necessarily mean something negative. New policies, construction and an expanded floor, new director, or simply the end of the semester (with nurses or their spouses graduating and taking jobs in other geographic locations) can cause a number of people to leave.

You might want to cross post this on the North Carolina board for additional visibility.
