Hospira pump safety?

How would the public or even the nursing community at large know of a single event that happened yesterday?

Well, at my hospital, we did have to check our pumps today due to Hospira reporting that some of them are "not alarming when air is in the tubing" as per our manager..didn't hear about any specific event, though. I work in Bronx, NY.
