does sterling medical do the hiring for va clinics?Rating: (votes: 0) thanks I would be careful. As far as I know, the VA HR department does the hiring for the VA, hospital or clinic. Comment:
ditto.

I work for the VA as a support clerk and know for a fact that the VA only hires permanent employees through the federal websites. They do use contract nurses and doctors, which may be what Sterling is. Go to USAJOBS.gov and just type in a city and state and this will lead you to the available jobs with the government.

I start at the VA on Monday and I got my job through the USAJOBS.gov website. I would check into this a little further before I gave them any personal info.
Comment:
Sterling is a staffing agency.Their employees may fill slots at VA and other government facilities but it is a temp position and you remain an employee of Sterling. Something to keep in mind is that most agency employment agreements (and their contract with the facility) bar you from being hired by the contractor for upwards of 6 months without a sizable buy out.
Comment:
1 of the positives about going to the VA as a contractor is getting the VET PRO credentialing done. VetPro is a requirement to working at ANY VA and takes 2 weeks to 2 months. However the only way to get it, is to be hired into an open position. (Permanent, Contract, Travel).Vet Pro'd people always get the first look!
