How do you change units?

How do you change units in a hospital?
I would go talk to NM of whatever unit you are looking at and see if there is a position and ask how you go about applying for it. Also could check with HR on postings. Some hospitals are very strict about internal applications.

It is not that easy as it sounds in the policy book. HR board is there to attrack outside nurses, not for the internal transfer nurses. Contacting the unit manager, the unit where you want to go to, directly may be the answer. Good luck.

In my facility, all openings require approval from HR to post. Openings are then posted online for external/internal applications.
