Do Hiring Managers Ever Call To Notify Of Not Getting The Job?

Had one leave a message to just call her back tomorrow. Good or bad news probably?
Some call either way.......every place is different. In hospitals though the offical offer usually comes from HR. Its possible the hiring manager wants to talk to you first, ask you a few more questions......maybe ask if you would like to shadow for a day before a decision is made.....I've had that happen. This gives a better idea for both you and them as to if the position is a good fit.

Well I interviewed with this manager and was told that the manager would make the job offer.

With my previous experience as a manager I always made the calls for hiring, HR put together the package and employment agreement or contract but I always delivered the good news. Good luck, hope this helps you!

Oh i had the same question and I found that different institutions have different modus operandi. If you applied online, some of them will notify you thru email that you didn't get it unfortunately but they're still interested on your future applications.I know it's driving you bonkers right now. I prayed that you have more patience and good news coming your way.

In my experience, you get the bad news by mail (the traditional "We appreciate your interest, BUT ..." letter), or, more recently, email. Telephone calls are usually good news. Best wishes!

I once got a postcard as a rejection letter. With one of those serene sunset on beach pictures on the other side...was kind of miffed at that.

I would say that 90% of interviewers never call or send a letter if they aren't going to hire you. A phone call is generally a good thing. Wishing you lots of luck!

from a UK point of view if you get as far as interview you'll generally get a call one way or the other , but YMMV .

When I was a manager, I called everyone. As a potential new hire, I've never received a call when not hired, I got a rejection e-mail instead. It depends on the facilities HR policy, every one is different.
