What is a Quick Cathe IV

My clinical instructor keeps telling us to refer to the IV as a quick cathe in our nursing notes if we state the gauge. What is she talking about???

Thanks for your input and help!
A Quick Cath is the name brand of a catheter. When I was doing bedside nursing we used a brand called Angiocath and then switched to Insyte. When I wrote my notes I would state which brand and which gauge.

I have no idea and I start IV's for a living!!!!! I assume it is the brand of IV catheter? There are a lot of things you should chart when starting an IV. I'm sure some lawyer, some precedent where someone was sued, could make a case for having to chart the brand of IV catheter used????

I still call them Jelcos and I don't even know if they're even made anymore.
