Conflicted!!! Help!!!

I am in nursing school and this summer I will be taking my LPN boards. I currently work at a local hospital as an ER tech. So, here's my crisis......I have always wanted to work in surgery, and I know that the hospital in the area wants at least 2 years of Med/Surg before specializing. Just posted is an LPN position in surgery and they're willing to train (Monday-Thursday, 7:30-5:30). So here's my question......work where I want as an LPN, or ignore this job opportunity and keep my fingers crossed that something will come up down the line after I put my time in Med/Surg as an RN (with working nights, weekends, and holidays...with 3 young kids at home)??????? Any recommendations would be fantastic! Thank you!!
I think you should at least apply for LPN surgery and see if they can wait till you pass your boards..kinda a no-brainer since this is what you wanted.. right??

Quote from javawren_23That's exactly what I thought!! I'm just hoping I don't regret not getting the RN down the road....if I got this job, that is.

Hey go for it. Good luck.

I say go for it. BSNs come in many forms and fashions. You may be able to keep your dream job and still school.

Quote from nlmooreI did not say do not get RN.. actually you will need BSN but you can work and make sure this is good fit for you then go back.
