correct order in which to suction a patient

When asked wha tis the correct order in which to suction a patient and given nasopharynz, trach and mouth how would you list them in order of sterile_ clean

Sterile to clean: Trach, nasopharynx, mouth.

No such thing as any of these being sterile.Also I would not be suctioning one part after another. That's a great way to transfer bacteria. The mouth etc is one of the dirtiest parts of the human body.

Not using the same set up.Sterile Trach first definitely.New cath set then naso. and then a tonsil tip for the mouth if needed. We had tooth brushes with a suction on the m for the mouth. But these should be 3 distinct procedures and not all at once.Why do you ask?

Nasopharyngeal would be what I'd suction first, as it's highly likely that it's going to induce coughing. If you suction the trach, then they cough, you'll likely have to suction the trach all over again. Of course, you wouldn't use the same catheter from nose to trach.

Sterile would be trach then go nasoph and mouth, but always use separated catheters! And separate suction setups too. Ideally, you would do mouth first then trach.

Thank You all. It is a test question believe it or not which in my opinion is rediculous.If your going to suction the mouth is considered the dirties so that should be last. As a rule I was taught that if suctioning nasopharynx no need to suction any further cause your reaching it all, however if coughing is induced you would use separate yankhour for mouth afterwards. If suctioning the trach that sterile and done first followed again by separate yankhour.Then other articles suggest that nasopharynx suctioned, followed by trach which is bring snot to the trac which is gross
