Please HELP! I have no idea what to do

1 University of Washington requires that you apply to their nursing school as well as the school itself. I was accepted into the nursing program but I won't hear if I got into the school itself until June/July. I was also accepted to another nursing school and I need to let them know by May 1st and pay $200 to save my spot in their program. Has anyone heard of someone getting into the nursing program and not into the school itself? Should I pay the $200 to the other program just in case? Any advice would help! Thanks!
$200 is a small amount of money to pay for peace of mind. I would pay it just in case you are not admitted into the nursing program at the University of Washington. It would be foolish to place all of your eggs into one basket.

I tend to agree with commuter. Being accepted into one nursing program without having to be put on a waiting list is a blessing, 2 is awesome. Hedge your bets!

I am just having so much trouble getting around the $200 and the fact that it will be a private school. I am just dead set on going to UW, but you are both right, I guess I will do it just in case.

Were your entrance test's scores and GPA good? That's what the school will base most of their decision on. I went to a similar university and they based it on GPA alone. Call the university and ask them what is going to be the deciding factor for admission with the eligible nursing students. As for the $200; pay it. That way if for whatever reason you don't get into Washington you'll have a program to go to. I never went to the University of Washington but I know the area and it is lovely and the people are great. Good luck to you.

Generally the nursing schools are going to be alot pickier than the general college, I can't imagine not being admitted to the general college. Nursing programs have become very competitive and selective. Good luck!

This sounds strange to me because it seems I have always read that a person can't apply to certain programs until they have been accepted at the school, which makes this sound backwards to me. I didn't know any programs did it the other way around.
