EMT to LPN

Hey, does anyone know if a EMT can challenge the LPN exam in Florida?
You can check with the board of nursing; however, you are likely going to find out that the answer is no.

You might want to search this board. There were several threads on this topic over the past year.

In the past there were states that allowed you to challenge nursing license exams. Other states would not give reciprocity to those who got licensed by challenging the exam. Having been an NREMT-I before I went to nursing school, I'd suggest you go to school rather than challenge. I found there to be almost no overlap between EMT and LPN training.

Looking at the state requirements for both in Florida, the EMT falls vary short of the LPN program which is a year long full time and very little of the content overlaps. It seems the EMT also might have a difficult time challenging the CNA, which holds true in most states, due to the vast differences in duties and work environment. Go to school and get properly trained along with the appropriate education. Sources:http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/http://www.doh.state.fl.us/demo/ems/

As an EMT, not only no, but HELL NO.That's like asking if a CNA can challenge Paramedic.Apples and oranges...
