singing?Rating: (votes: 0) ![]() not all the time but I'll catch myself very quietly almost as if under my breath singing or humming a tune. Comment:
When I worked in LTC I did sing to the residents. Alot of the them loved to sing. I would sing songs like " My little sunshine" with them and they loved it ! There is nothing wrong with singing. I think its great. The residents with alzheimers may not remember their name but often remember words to songs they grew up to. Keep singing.

I sing CONSTANTLY. I think I sometimes drive people up the wall. If I'm not singing, I'm humming. I play guitar too (poorly) and no it does not sound crazy, it is extremely therapeutic. Better than any pill I've ever popped!

I work in an area where I put patients to sleep by the way of moderate sedation. Sometimes after they are off to lala land and we are proceding with the procedure, I find the nurse tech and procedural MD looking at me funny and then teasing me about my singing. It dosent help that we have the radio on in there too. I think singing is good for the soul.I sing alot around the house, in the car, and it seems, at work sometimes too. As long as your not too obnoxious and get a few smiles out of it. who is it gonna hurt.I also had a patient sing some sort of opera song to me (his nurse) and his roommate once. It was quite cute. Keep singing, do what fills your heart with joy:heartbeat

I know of an LPN student that was observing in the OR that started singing... according to the OR staff/doc it was the strangest thing and totally inappropriate. She is no longer in the program... I don't know if she was removed from the program or if she was embarrassed and left.

I hum alot and sing under my breath. Most times it is because I have a song stuck in my head that I can't get rid of.

I don't sing on the job. I have one resident who will sing Hawaiian songs to me and then ask me to dance the hula. I tell him, "Papa, I haven't danced hula for years." Him: "No matter. Just shake your hips." I my residents.

To fulfill the bachelors part of my degree in the arts I picked music. I eventually got a minor in music but my love is singing. I got to train for 3 years with a professional voice teacher at school ... loved it and music is in my soul as well. I will sing when appropriate in a low voice but it is frowned upon as a public display. People who aren't into music don't understand and the behavior appears odd. Too bad; if more people let out their inner musician the world would be such a better place. I hear ya but be careful; a free spirit will often times upset people who are extremely uptight.
