Plz help with Bumex amio dopamine cardizem calculations!

1 Hi, I'm a new grad and would like to know the answers to some calculations to know if I am doing them right.

1. Cardizem ordered at 15mg/hr. Concentration 100mg/100ml of 0.9 NS. What do I run the pump at?

2. Integrilin orders 2mcg/kg/min (pt is 60kg). What rate will the pump be set at?

3. Bumex to be administered at 1mg/hr. Concentration 12.5mg in a 50ml bag. Pump set at?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
This is basic math. And I mean basic. Please review your med formulas.Especially the first one. If you work it out, you'd see how simple it is.Come on.P.S. what are YOUR answers....and we'll see if they are right or not.

We would absolutely be doing you (and your future patients) a major disservice if we just provided answers. As has been suggested above, providing us with your answers and asking for help with problem-solving any wrong answers is much more productive and helpful than flat-out asking someone else to do your homework.

A new grad huh? Seems awfully similar to nursing school questions. As stated, review your formulae, come up with the answers and tell us what you think. Then, we can have a discussion.

Comment:
Integrillin is provided in either a 0.75mg/mL or 2mg/mL infusion. I've only ever seen 0.75mg/mL ordered, so I'll use that:(120mcg/min)x(60min/1hr)x(1mL/750mcg) = 9.6mL/hrIf the 2mg/mL solution was used:(120mcg/min)x(60min/1hr)x(1mL/2000mcg) = 3.6mL/hr

Er... your profile says "pre-nursing student," too... I'm not even in any nursing/pharmacology classes yet and these are pretty simple...

Comment:
Whenever a solution has a 1:1 ratio of mg/ml, like your cardizem does, the mg/hr will be the same as the ml/hr.For the integrilin, multiply the number of mcg by the kg to get mcg/min, then multiply that by 60 to get the mcg/hr. You'll need to know the concentration of the Integrilin to set the pump. For the Bumex you can first find the concentration ratio, in this case there is 1mg in every 4 ml. One way to solve for this is to cross multiply: 12.5 over 50 = 1 over x (mg on the top, ml on the bottom, with your unknown as x). Cross multiply (50x1) and divide (50 divided by 12.5)=4. This tells you 1mg=4ml, so your pump would be set at 4ml/hr to infuse 1mg/hr.

She said please...jeez! Aren't there more polite, professional and respectful ways to address colleagues? Who says that the people who chose to respond to this post are meant to teach the OP a lesson?Seriously, with the eating their young! What purpose does your arrogance serve, other than to stroke your own egos? Where is the compassion? Have you all been shamed and spoken to as children in an adult learning situation, feeling the need to lash out at someone? Feeling the need to show them a thing or two?For what it's worth, my opinion is that this site is perfectly representative of personal, therefore professional burnout and toxicity. This is my brain :redpinkhe, andThis is my brain when I realize that someone is being unsupportive and judgemental for the sake of enhancing the circumference of their puffed out chests For what it's worth.
