Am I a stalker????!!!

Hi All!!!

I'm a new grad 5/2010...I've had my eye on a New Grad Residency since December 2009 and I finally got an interview this Monday...

Although I work for the company...this residency position is really hot because of the job shortage for new grads in my area...I was so aggressive with the recruiters....I called weekly...sometimes twice to make sure they wouldn't forget me...and it paid off...I was the first internal employee to get an interview...

So the inteview went great!! The unit's manager even asked me to come back to meet with the staff and charge nurse I may potentially be working with...now.... the unit manager said she was going to have a recruiter call me back to set up a 2nd interview with the staff...but I haven't received a call yet....it's been 4 days!!

I emailed the manager thanking her for the interview the day following the interview(Tuesday) and left her a voicemail on Thursday....So my fiance says I'm becoming a stalker ...am I really???

I want this position sooooo bad....it's 6 months of orientation before I'm on the floor on my own...that's unheard of!! So my question to you all is....should I really stop calling....or should I call in a week if I haven't received a call...I don't want to seem to pushy and annoy them to the point they won't want me as an employee....What should I do??

Thanks All!!!!!!
yes you are!! (joke) If I were you I would still apply for several vacant positions not just in the place that you are working right now, I hope there are still positions for nurse externs in your area. The usual saying is that if they don't call you for a week that means they are still looking for somebody or the position has already been filled. Hopefully you get that position that you want. Good luck!

It's not being called a stalker, it's being called AMBITIOUS!!! Nothing wrong with it. At least they see that you're 100% interested in being a part of the nursing team. No harm in that. Good luck!

Thanks +one and laynaER for your responses...I was already told by the recruiter that a decision wouldn't be made until the end of June...I assume they told me right away so I wouldn't call them constantly...lol...I'm just freaking about scheduling this 2nd interview...geeezzz this is so nerve wrecking!!! I actually has a dream last night the the manager called me for the 2nd interview...am I bugging or what!!! lol Thanks again lovies!

Stalker? No. I'm just woried that the job may not live up to your expectations, but honestly I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it's all you want and more. Best of luck! Now if your fiance really wants to know what a stalker is like, well I just happen to.......... Naw nevermind. The police just don't understand, like that terrible chainsaw incident that the press blew all out of proportion. But then I've said too much.

Give them a few days to call back now. It is a holiday weekend which can also push things back a bit. I do think they will call you and that they are interested. Be patient now and ride it out. Good luck and let us know how you make out. I think you have a real shot at getting the job. In the interim keep your eyes open to other opportunities.

I was told "If you have to ask......". Stupid cops I was not hurting the tree.... Seriously practice a little restraint or they might decide that you are too aggressive for their team. Good luck!!!

You are a business person and a nurse who is really smart and uses the brain you were given! Too many of us are timid when it comes to initializing contact and following up. You can't do everything over the internet! Good work! Keep in touch lol! Stalking implies some time of freaky obsessive thing that some crazy men do (yeah, usually it's a guy thing) to freak a woman out and make her want to stay indoors and see no one else but her pet cat. Not someone legitimately following up with a superior to show them that you are the ONE.

My dad always told me when I was looking for a job, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." He also said to always come prepared and to never show up on an interview without a pen. As a pre-nursing student, I plan on being the same way. Good luck to you, and I hope you get this job. After all of your hard work and determination to show them your interest, I would think that you would be a wonderful candidate.

Accept the fact that although you're the first, you are probably one of many.Keep your fingers crossed, but don't assume.Hope, hope, hope, hope...you get your residency..

There does come a point, however, where the repeated calls can become an annoyance.
