I'm a RN from Puerto Rico and I've been trying to get my Fl license, now everything looks good with the application but the office handling my credential evaluation is taking way to long to do their job. It's been 3 months and yet they keep asking for proof after proof from the college I graduated and I keep getting them all they ask for but yet I haven't gotten the clearance yet. Is there anything I could to to quicken the process or is there any way I can work in any job health related until I get my license?if anyone knows anything or been thru my ordeal please let me know.
I don't have a clue.What brings you to Florida?

Hello,Wish I could give you good news, but I can not. I am an American who got my RN in Australia. I applied to CGFNS the moment I graduated and have JUST made it through and received Athority To Test- brace yourself.... the process took 3 YEARS! Although on a happier note, my friend, from my same school just got the process completed and it only took her 9 months. CGFNS is a NIGHTMARE to work with. All they want is $$$ followed by more $$$$ and talking to them is like talking to Dr Seuss. My best advice to you is to apply to the Florida Nursing Board and begin working thorugh that way as well. Both the board that I was applying to and the one my friend was applying to (different states) admitted that they are also frustrated with working with CGFNS and once a certain amount of paperwork had gone through, they were happy to work the rest on their end with me and my school which was extremely quick in comparison.Good luck, don't give up, but do not just sit back and wait-- or you will be in LTC when the ATT comes through on it's own.

This may be a stupid question but...are all your verifications in english?I have had my license endorsed by a few states now and always have some trouble with my paperwork from Costa Rica. I translated it the second time around and attach both copies to everything I send. That way they see the official copy from CR and are given the translation because ofcourse I dont get my paperwork in english. I also had to have it notarized because when I sent the original spanish with my translation they would not take it. After notarization everything went smoothly...and much qwicker.Bueno Suerte

All I can say is that it took me FOREVER to get my Florida license just coming from Pennsylvania. Just keep calling them and work your way up the chain until you get someone that you can help you individually. I had to keep complaining till I got someone by name who was helpful enough.
