Could A Stress-Relieving Drug Help Women Get Pregnant?

Scientists may’ve discovered the key to helping women conceive a baby – and it’s all about cutting down on stress

By Alison Coldridge

One in six UK couples struggle to conceive – and stress is thought to be one of the main reasons why.

Fertility experts often say that stress can get in the way of conceiving a baby and often once a woman relaxes (easier said than done), she finds she’s able to get pregnant.

Stress is thought to affect the function of the gland in the brain that regulates the hormones that tell the ovaries to release eggs. It can also leave you with a lack of interest in sex – making conceiving a baby impossible!

But scientists may’ve come up with an answer to the solution and developed a breakthrough drug that could help turn off the effects of stress on the body.

Experts at the University of California have found that reducing levels of a hormone called RFRP3 could decrease the amount of stress – helping women to conceive.

The hormone, which has only recently been discovered, is produced in our brains and is thought to protect the body when stressed.

look at the source. Find a scientific source and then ask the questions. They are valid questions, but yahoo news is hardly a credibly place to get medical research information.
