Licensure/Certification Abbreviation help!Rating: (votes: 0) How am I supposed to specify these things? I am planning to get my CCRN in a few months, so I believe from here on out they just go in order of time obtained, right? Thanks for any help! Last edit by Swanks916 on Feb 3 This may help you: http://www.nursecredentialing.org/Di...s-Brochure.pdfI've been taught most permanent to least permanent, and only the essentials. So, I wouldn't list both my BSN and my MSN, just the MSN. This would be first because it's pretty darn hard to get your degree voided. Next licensure, because it's possible to lose, but more permanent than certifications. Then certifications (again, just those that are essential- I have no need to list CPR/ACLS even though I have them)- easiest to lose since all you have to do is not recertify, and it's almost always optional rather than required for a job. The way mentioned above is the way I was taught. I don't really add my stuff on except for the RN. As a certified wound care nurse, I could append that, or my education, but really I am in a hurry. Don't have time for that. LOL. Really only my resume or job application has my full stuff on it.

Degree, licensure, certs. So something like MSN, RN, CCRN.

I believe RoseQueen hit the spot! My certifying association gave recommendations on how the initials should appear (ANA)
