waste of money in my opinion. We do not hire LVN's in my facility as acute care demands more from them then their education/license provides. When we hire we are looking for RN. Some people get LVN first to be able to work somewhere while in school. But if you can afford it, go straight for RN and start out making more money

I agree with the waste of money too! Do you guys know after your ADN, how much more schooling for your BSN?
Comment:
We have one LPN on my floor but she's been there forever and is a rarity.

I did the LPN while in ADN school. For me personally, it was WELL worth it. I made good money while in ADN school and my experience looked great on my resume. Definitely not a waste in my opinion. But, to each its own....

If you have the time, start in a BSN program from the get-go. Just do it. It's four years and you're done done done. You'll need to have it anyway in most places and it will open doors for you later that an online BSN add-on "degree" (increasingly) may not.
