a thought that came to me while I was in the er tonight

2 I had to go to the er tonight for a migraine that would not go away (had it since Friday), and after frequenting these boards, I know how much please and thank you's mean, as well as working with the nurse and the doctors (not that I was ever a nightmare patient.... at least I don't think I was ). But I think that more laypeople should visit this site so they can learn some respect before going into the er, so here's my idea: they have wifi for everyone in the hospital, so when you first log on, allnurses.com would be the default page and you'd have to read two or more threads before you could go on to any of your other pages. LOL. Maybe this just seems smart and funny to me after all the meds the dr gave me (but hey! don't have a migraine and am not puking, so I'm a happy camper!)
Nurses must be treated with respect. People might see nurses as mere doctors' assistants but the truth is being a nurse is more than that. Kudos to allnurses.com since they allow nurses to express their feelings and grievances.

Bridezilla, I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope you're able to follow up with your PCP or neurologist to discuss what to do when you have a migraine. However, I vote no to allnurses.com being the default home page and free WiFi itself.Have a good day.

The issue is not whether nurses deserve respect. That's a given. ALL humans deserve respect, and nurses are not any different. The issue is whether the nurse will put up with inappropriate behavior. And there are many here who don't know how to teach people how not to cross certain boundaries....and I agree with Altra...no on both. Take care.
