What's wrong with me?Rating: (votes: 0) Please, no bashing! I'm really quite fragile right now and I'm not sure my ego could handle it. Well played Comment:
I'd say "April fools" right now, but actually.... Either I'm lucky, or the NETY and bullying crap doesn't actually happen. Or I'm just oblivious.Yeah, probably oblivious.Thank you to the beautifully experienced and wise members here and my colleagues who have helped me shape my practice. ❤️ And to those who had to work today, I hope your patients and coworkers didn't do anything overly devious (or annoying) for April Fools.

You're probably not young and pretty enough for them. Or it might mean nursing was never your true dream and calling in the first place. If it was truly your dream, someone would be trying to crush it.

Give it time.

That's awesome.

LOL I never experienced any of the dreaded NETY either.

I had a couple of COBs try to take a piece out of me, but when I graduated I was almost 40 and a bit tough for them to gnaw on.
Comment:
Personally I never believed in that nety, cob, or new generations are lazy and entitled. I just attributed it to certain people are (rhymes with witchy) and certain people are lazy. I certainly don't think they represent a bigger group of people.

I've neither been eaten nor crusty. I was gnawed on a bit but in such an otherwise supportive enviroment with some really nice nurses, I handled that one directly and all was good in the world again.

As far as I'm concerned, the crustier, the better! I've been a nurse for almost two years (I can't believe I'm saying that!), and I have truly been treated with nothing but respect by the experienced nurses. And not to mention, the absolute ENDLESS amount of patience they've had with the thousands of questions I've asked...and at this point, I'm pretty sure I can say that literally...thousands!When I first started in my cardiac-surgical ICU, I had one of them grab something out of my hands, and push me out of the way, and tell me to NEVER do that again. In front of a few people. Yes, I wanted to die, but I didn't blame her for being more focused on the patient than my feelings/ego. And afterwards, instead of crying or starting a NETY post, I thanked her for stopping me from making a mistake, and we had a nice, loooooong conversation about why I should never do that again, among several other things I should never do.

What does NETY stand for?

Dearest ixchel,Could you possibly be competent in your practice? Thus providing no tasty morsels of gristle upon which bats love to chew. And I certainly disagree with your self assessment on looks. Assuming your avatar is accurate, you are stunning.I have enjoyed your posts since post number 1200 or so and was truly surprised to read you are but a mere babe-in-nurseland. Congrats to you. I'd say you are a success story.
