Should I change from ICU to Surgery

A little background.
I'm a husband and father with 3 young children (3,7,8) and worked full time night shift since I can remember. Supported my family through nursing school. I currently work ICU where I commute one hour each way to a 7p-7a position at a hospital I love working for.
In addition to my family, I love running and all things health related. On nights I work I usually sleep from 0900-1600 and have to leave the house at 1730.
I am wondering if anybody has any advice about switching from a night shift to day shift position? Yes i know the money is better at night (%15 at my hospital +5% on weekends).
Are you able to spend more time with family? Do the things you enjoy?
If I were to change shifts/positions, I think I would enjoy surgery, since it is usually days and off weekends and holidays (with on-call of course).
