Hawaii RNs

I am in the last semester of school in Colorado and will be PCSing to Hawaii (Oahu) in Aug. I am just wondering what the job market is like, hours/shifts, what the usual starting pay is, and how the staff welcomes military or new nurses in the local hospitals. I would like to work at Tripler but will apply and other hospitals too. Thanks in advance
Rethink Tripler as your first choice, check the nurse -patient ratios. I had a good experience at Kaiser Pemanente.It 's been awhile since I worked in Hawaii, but the pay was adjusted for the high cost of living.How the staff accepts you, is individual to the unit. I did come up against some Hawaiian nurses that felt main landers were taking jobs from the locals.Good luck, let us know how it's going.
