19 That moment when your dementia patient, who is agitated because he hasn't had a BM in over 3 days, finally poops and then goes right to sleep after a suppository, an enema, a couple ounces of prune juice, and 4 failed bathroom trips, and you can finally actually look at your other patients:
That is real satisfaction right there.

SO true! SUCH a great feeling....OMGoodness I miss my lil' old people! That reminds me of something really funny.....I told my sister that we call "milk of mag and prune juice" a brown cow, and it really helps pts. poop. I made it for her when she was reaalllly stopped up. Well, she ended up having to go to the ER for an unrelated reason and when they asked her if she had taken any meds she said "I had a brown cow". I almost peed myself laughing.

Admitted to hospital on Friday for nausea, dry-heaving, and diarrhea x7days...screaming for laxative Sunday because they haven't pooped...true story
