All about the bling...Rating: (votes: 8) Ah, how timely...!! Comment:
I loved wearing cute scrubs when I worked in peds, but I never got into "blinging out" my stethoscope. I was 21 when I graduated from my LVN program, so I was young. Now I'm 26 & I wouldn't do it.

I have a little beaded bracelet with my name on it that I have wrapped around my stethoscope...I'll probably get it engraved one day but it helps me know which one is mine since I have a popular colour.

I do not. Between the high incidence of drug resistant infections in my patient population combined with my pediatric patients reaching out to touch/play/attempt to mouth pretty much anything within reach. I save my "unique" choices for the color of my scope (happens to be clear right now) and funky or cartoon scrubs (since I work with a pediatric population they appreciate my choices).

I have a "sweater" on my stethoscope that I wash with my scrubs. It is less about the bling and more about protecting my stethoscope from my neck oils, since I always wear my stethoscope around my neck. Not to mention, it is one extra fuzzy piece of "warm" that I appreciate in the freezer-cold hospital.

I have one simple CharmMed charm on my stethoscope because I have an all black model Littman that several other nurses have on my floor.

I have a red allergy armband wrapped around it so I can tell mine from others.

I used to hang a roll of tape on my scope. That tape came in soooooo handy at times.

I have a one with the rainbow colored metal. Only one I've seen in the wild with my color and the colorful metal, so I don't bother blinging in out further.
