Looking at ONLINE LPN programs.. help!Rating: (votes: 0) Anyway, I would like to pursue my old dream of being a nurse, but I am afraid I wont be able to afford it (especially since it will have to be online and that seems to cost so much more). I have NO extra money and nothing in savings so I would be starting off with nothing. I am aware of grants and loans, but how easy is it to get loans when your credit is "less than perfect"? I am also afraid of "oatmeal brain" since I have been out of school soooo long! My plan, hopefully, is to continue to work the next two years as a nanny, while doing an online LPN program. Once I am working as an LPN, I would continue classes (LPN-RN). I can not do night and weekend classes or I would never see my kids! I am pretty confused as to where to start. I have tried to find schools that offer an online LPN program, but it seems most are LPN-RN and above? Anyone know a good school with an online program that isn't too outrageous in tuition? What should I study before getting started? I am "math challenged" so I know I need to brush up on that! ANY advice on ANYthing would be appreciated!! Thanks, Diane Your kids are 18 - are they disabled in some way, still in high school, etc.? In other words, is there a reason why they are not pitching in with the money or why they aren't moving out on their own and doing their own thing? Comment: Actually I was talking about in the future when they are both out of the house I wont have as much money coming in from my ex. Currently the two who live at home with me are 14 and 16. Sorry for the confusion.
