thank you letter?

If I had a special nurse and sent a letter or gift with her name to the hospital, would they receive it? Delete if need be
A letter or thank you note, sent to the hospital administrator, praising a particular nurse, would be great, they SHOULD? pass the praise on to that nurse. Or have some cookies or candy delivered to the unit, with a mention on the note of everybody was so kind, but special thanks to so and so.

It is considered unethical to accept gifts from patients. A note or treat for the whole unit would be more appropriate.

Hospitals usually have a policy. At mine, a nurse can receive $75 dollars worth of gifts per calendar year. Food doesn't count, so take-out Thai food for the whole unit is always awesome!

Thank you notes are always sent on. Sometimes the actual NOTE isn't handed to the RN, but they def. get a "good job" or "congrats". This is totally enough, but if you want to sweeten the deal (as it's not every day that it happens) getting a snack for the floor is always appreciated, too. It doesn't have to be anything extravagent, but I've seen cookies for the nurses many times. Just be aware of the night shift folks - sometimes they have just as much to do with your care, even if you were sleeping! What we suggest (because day shift people are greedy where I work) is to bring some in labelled "days" and then others "nights", and then handing them to a supervisor. This way you are ensured that it goes around properly.

A card or a gift will make the way to the nurse on my unit. One of my patients knitted me a scarf during her recovery and mailed it to the unit. It was very much appreciated. We can accept gifts up to $75 per patient.

After my surgery last year, I delievered a platter of cookies to the unit. It was much appreciated. I told them I thought about something healthy like fruit, but decided cookies tasted better.

I have recieved many gifts over the years and I have kept them all.......usually hospital put a monetary limit....food is always great..... you can send her a thank you note addressed to that nurse ie: Nursec/o hospital/unitshe should recieve it....I have also had patients with their families return to deliver it themselves.
