Advice NeededRating: (votes: 0) Unless you had the job offer in writing there isn't really much you can do. But I would talk to a manager about it anyways. It doesn't sound fair but management usually has their own agenda. Comment: I agree. You cannot do much legally if you have nothing in writing. I'm not surprised that this happened. It sucks and I'm sorry you're getting the run around. Continue to cross train when possible so when the time comes you are ready to transfer.Comment: Are you union? This is one of the benes of unionization that you'd have first dibbs.Comment: If you have a collective bargaining agreement (i.e. your facility is unionized), you need to consult the contract and see what it says. If your employment is "at will", I'm not certain what, if any recourse you have.Comment: Who knows if this new grad has other credentials or experience that you don't? If you didn't get negative feedback while cross training on OB, then you might ask what you could do to ensure the next spot is yours. Management get real loose lips when we ask how we can work harder. If you trust someone on that floor, it wouldn't hurt to ask for the scuttlebutt.
