taking a refresher course

Hi, I have been working in the nursing field since passing the boards...about five years. I want to work in the hospital though and can't seem to get a job there. Has snyone taken a refresher course and gotten a hospital job out if it? I don't want to spend the money if it is not going to help me. Any advice? Thanks in advance...

If you are employed in nursing, a refresher course won't necessarily be beneficial for getting a job and working in home health won't help you to get a hospital job. If you don't have a BSN, getting one would be beneficial.

I do have my BSN. I live in northern cali. Moving out of state has been a thought but my kids are older and I would miss them so much. Do you think my age is hurting me? I am 43?
