Comment: Tough callI would not want to lose the position but I would not want to mislead them either.Comment: Your pregnancy is legally, morally and ethically NONE of their business.Comment: Well you could wait until you start showing. At that point they'll know regardless. For some that's not until 4-5 months. For some it's at 3. I'd hate for you to lose the opportunity. Is the manager known for being reasonable or is she known as a terror?Comment: If you already have a signed offer, you can tell them now as a courtesy, but you don't have to say anything at all. I just wouldn't mention it until the job is written in stone.Comment: Thanks everyone. The manager seems very reasonable. To be honest I got the job through a connection and that is why I am worried about hard feelings. If that weren't the case I wouldn't reveal it but I feel like I owe them honesty since they hired me upon my connections recommendation. I don't start for another month though all of the paperwork has been signed and completed. I may tell them in the next couple of weeks or may just wait until I complete my week long orientation (at that point I will be more valuable).Comment: Quote from PurpleLoverTough callI would not want to lose the position but I would not want to mislead them either.Comment: Quote from defib1What is etiquette when it comes to telling my new boss? Should I tell them before I start or should I just wait until I have complete orientation and am much further along? I would lean toward not telling them until I absolutely had to but I really don't want to burn this bridge. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
