Change from ER to ICU?

1 I'm in need of some advice. I have been an RN for 2 years now. I worked on a General Medicine floor for a little over a year, then transferred to the ER where I have been for the past year. My husband is now being stationed to Arizona, and I need to start applying for jobs. I am considering starting NP school in about a year, and think that ICU experience would be helpful for future studies. I really love the fast-paced, fast turnover environment of the ER however and am worried that I will miss it if I get a job in an ICU. I also don't want my resume to look like I'm job hopping. My dilemma is whether I should work for another year or 2 in the ER and then switch, or apply in the ICU's now. What do you all think?
hi! i think you should apply to both icu and e.r. and then see how it goes. hopefully you get interviews for both then after the interviews...decide which route to take..
