MSN or not

My wife works IU health in O.R. with BSN. She has 8 yrs mgt previous experience with large shipping company. 3 yrs in the O.R. About 3 yrs ago finished up with MBA from IWU.
Her desire is to move on up the chain, within mgt.
Question is, she unsure whether or not to continue with MSN. It's hard enough for her now to be on-call and deal with another degree. She has talked with one person who interviews for different positions, at IU. She asked if its necessary to get the MSN, for upr mgt. His answer, "it wouldn't hurt, but not necessarily help". Good grief. Anyone out there with a different answer or advice. Hell, I now it would hurt, but that's another $40k or so to pay back, and her MBA may be just fine. Plz, advice. Thx, DM
