Advice in looking for another RN job as a new RN

Hello!
I have been working in a hospital for less than a year now as a new RN but I have been feeling unsatisfied and unaccomplished of what I do. Yes, I provide primary care to patients but I always end up craving for more in terms of knowledge. I am also unimpressed about the hospital's way of dealing with simple requests. I would like to strive for more, learn more. My problem is how do I start and where do I start? Any advice in applying for another RN job while employed? How long should I wait? Thanks!
Do not shoot yourself in the foot. Another hospital job may not be attainable at this time, so do not let it be known that you are not happy with the one that you have. If I were you, I would deal with the need for more knowledge by starting a new education program. If you have not obtained a BSN, you can start there, or find an ASN to MSN program. Getting another degree should keep you occupied for a period of time until it is more advisable to start a search for a more challenging job. Good luck.

I don't think nursing is really what most people expect it to be. It certainly isn't the respected profession that people who don't work at the bedside pretend that it is - and I very highly doubt that will change with the BSN push.
Are you working on any certs? Do you research anything that's going on with your patients?Sometimes, you can find ways to keep the increase in knowledge base going. I have a home infusion position, and I am constantly researching new meds, diagnoses, diseases processes, comorbidities, etc. It keeps the learning going, which I really like.

You could ask your manager if there are some projects she would like to pursue. Perhaps there is some pt education program she would like to put together, or ask you nurse educator for a project. There are always ways to improve your self, sometimes the opportunities in nursing don't present themselves very often and when they do you have to have all your ducks in a row. Work on a higher degree, there are many on-line, research their programs and determine which meets your needs. Keep scanning your facility for other opportunites----look at the HR publication that shows open positions and see what the requirements are for those positions, that will give you an idea of what courses or certifications to take.
