Thoughts and Prayers for those in San Bruno CA and working the Bay Area Hospitals

7 I am watching the horrific events happening in San Bruno, CA tonight. San Bruno is by the San Francisco Airport. A high pressure gas line explosion has devastated a neighborhood and has put several hospitals into disaster mode receiving patients.

May all be safe through this rough night in California. I hope for the best possible recovery for those taken to the burn units.
Used to work in this general area. Scary thought that I could have been driving through this area at the time of the blast. Hope everyone involved receives the best of care and recovers.

Sad...The count so far is 1 confirmed death, at least 5 critical burn patients, several more burn and smoke injuries, 53 homes destroyed and 120 damaged on 10 acres.http://www.californiabeat.org/2010/0...n-mateo-county

It's currently 8H28am in South Africa, and we're about 10 hours ahead of California, so I'm guessing this explosion happened about 2 or 3 hours ago. Haven't heard any reports on local stations yet. Will pray for them.

What a tragedy, my thoughts and prayers go out to them. Life truely hangs by a thin thread for everyone; I can't imagine the awefulness of having my neighborhood blow up. Praying...

Wow...just wow.... Saw the scene in the daylight on the news. It is fatiguing and stressful for all involved in situations like this. There was no warning or time to prepare. The residents literally had to run for their lives. Now might be a time to review your disaster plans both at home and at work. And, drop any negative feelings you have been having towards friends and loved ones. Dealing with these situations are especially tough because the patients may have suffered life changing injuries as well as loss of loved ones and may have lost their homes. While "things" can be replaced, it is still hard to process the loss of all the items, including a home, that had been a part of one's life. As a caregiver, you must sometimes deal with more than just the physical injuries. A heart felt blessing goes out to the professionals that work in Burn Units.
