I don't have a passion for anything (anymore)...need advice .

So...I've been out of school for about two years now.I graduated with my A.A in 2008 while I was prego and I started my first semester at a 4 year school right after (while I was prego) but did not return to school after giving birth.Well my baby is almost two and I think I'm ready to go back to school.I started out with what seemed like a passion for Nursing.I was so excited about finally starting Nursing school, but got rejected three times b/c my gpa was too low ( I applied with a 3.55 GPA).I graduate with my A.A in Liberal Arts and enrolled in a Education program.I didn't like it at all.I just didn't feel challenged and enthusiastic about it.Plus there are nooo jobs for Teachers. After spending two years at home with my baby,I have NOT lost my zest for life and my desire to be successful, but I have lost my passion for Nursing. As a matter of fact,I just don't see myself in any career.I know I want to continue my Education and become a professional, but I don't know "what I want to be when I grow up." I like the Health field.I feel as if I could become competent working in the field, but I'm not sure which avenue to pursue.I don't mind the length of the time it'll take to complete my course of study.I just wish I had a passion for a specific career, especially a career that's in demand.Any tips on how to rekindle or develop my passion?
I'm sorry to hear that you lost your passion... It's tough! I remember being a pre-nursing student and my school basically crushed my soul when it came to nursing. I no longer desired to become a nurse and was ill advised with what I should have done with college career. That's when I got an even worse soul-crushing job as a dorm security guard. It was after a tough incident that I realized that I wanted to become a nurse again! What I would suggest is to go to an advisor from the school you attended or even to a different school and see what they tell you! After a few years of negativity, I found that talking a group of different people was refreshing and helped me become motivated again. In fact, I was being interviewed for a job at a local community college when they told me about scholarships and their nursing program. Though I'm not really sure if I'm being helpful or not, I'd still suggest talking to another school about their program. Just because you got rejected a few times doesn't mean you have to give up all hope. My mom always says that thoughts are like bullets, and I say aim those bullets at what you want. The worst they can do is say no, so just keep trying! Keep talking, get more resources and if it takes you to retake some classes, so what? See if a local community college is offering them and retake the classes (it's a cheap and doable alternative) Options are unlimited when it comes to ways to get into the nursing program or any other health related field. Just look for some resources online (like using Google to find health field career options). Just keep trying and stay positive ^.^ I hope this was helpful and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors

How long have they been looking at GPA's for admission? 3.55 isn't good enough?!?! I'm guessing this is because of the current job market, IMHO. Anyway, Back2, follow your heart. You can always change your mind, school, major, career choice. An ADN gets you a RN license which you could use as a reliable income and stepping stone to another career. A dear friend of mind used her RN license to get her through law school. Take some time to look at all the many options you have, follow your heart, and have a long happy life wherever life decides to take you.

Geesh! 3.55 GPA. Wish I had that just once! Maybe 2 semesters added together.

Like, I'm sitting here, and I can't believe I'm giving advice to someone with a 3.55 GPA! I should be getting advice from you!

I would suggest taking a career assessment test. You should be able to do this through your school. There are many different types but most provide a window to areas that you would most likely have an interest in.Don't feel bad. . .I had a 3.82 gpa and didn't get in TWICE (and nursing was my second bachelors degree from the same college)!! This was over six years ago! If you really want to be a nurse, keep trying. If you are undecided, look into taking a career test.Good luck!

There are many other options in the Health care field besides nursing. Google "Health Care Careers" and you'll find many! Don't do nursing if you're not interested in it, it will only eat your soul. lol I've meet a few nurses who hate their careers and they're miserable and they seem to age faster.
