Well, my husband WAS okay with me taking a job that is closer to home, a nursing home that is a 15 minute walk from my house... a nice place that I really think I'm going to enjoy working...

But now he's starting to get on me about their insurance plan. It has a deductible, albeit a relatively small one, whereas my current/former employer's Aetna had no deductible. PCP visits are going to be 30 bucks now, as opposed to 10.. yadda yadda yadda.

This plan is even going to cost more out of each paycheck.. but it's all WORTH IT!!!!! Like I said in a previous thread, that job was making me suicidal at times.

But, you know.... keep a job that makes you absolutely miserable so we can save a few bucks at the doc's office!
Sometimes it's just not about the money. What does your husband do?

At least you have the option of benefits! Many jobs these days don't have benefits, and many times you have to pay out of your own pocket!

It has to be the height of irony to work in a health care facility you can't afford to use.

And...if you are relatively healthy, you may not need to use your insurance benefits much.

Tell our hubby, that at LEAST you have health insurance! Many of of don't.

If he cares more about that small amount of money than your happiness you need to slap him upside the head - hard!

I find it shocking, the places where people work, that do not provide health insurance to their employees. That is upsetting. In my current/former job, I've cared for children whose parents were teachers in the public school system... and these kids were on Medicaid. Doesn't make sense to me.My husband really should consider himself lucky.Oh, and someone asked.. he works as a cook in a national restaurant chain. I've carried the burden of insuring us.. well, every since the FIRST time we ever had insurance, 14 years ago!!!!! He has NEVER had a job with insurance. I told him, if he doesn't like it, he needs to go out and get a decent job with benefits for once.

Tell him to get his own damn insurance if he's so concerned about it. You need to be in a position where you are happy.
