New CPR Does it affect also in NCLEX?

With the release of new CPR guidelines, does it also apply to NCLEX also? Instead of ABC,its CAB now or are we gonna stick to the old school?I don't want to get confused coz I'm gonna take my exam this week.

I believe those guidelines were issued for laypeople. You are a trained healthcare worker - there's a difference.Doubt they will change the exam in the next few days, regardless.

don't worry about the nclex changes. i heard in my feuer review audio cds that nclex is a couple of years behind with the updates.good luck with the exam by the way.

Actually, they are changing CPR for BLS as well. The issue of Circulation is out, the changes are listed. Basically, it's CAB for BLS as well...Compression, then Airway, then Breathing. I think it will streamline things a bit. BLS will also still be on the only component that shows BVM, etc.

I think the chances of you getting even one question about how to do CPR on the NCLEX are slim-to-none. You still need to know what to do, of course, but I wouldn't lose any sleep about this being on boards. Good luck!

NCLEX will pull those questions from the database so you won't be asked about it.

NCLEX questions take YEARS of writing, testing, and final approval.CCR is only for non healthcare worker rescue anyways...BTW its been around many years now, in AZ at least.

The newest NCLEX-RN went into effect April 2010. I am not sure if NCLEX-PN was also changed in 2010. As many other posters stated it takes several years to re-write the NCLEX. You will be ok in regards to CPR updates. For updated NCLEX faqs go the NCSBN site.
