Thank you e-mail to HR? Did I lose the opportunity?

Hi everyone,

I had an interview with a recruiter this past week (tuesday) and didn't think to send a thank you e-mail (he sent me a thank you email with benefits information). Now it's friday and I'm realizing that maybe I should have. He told me that if I don't hear from him by the beginning of next week I should give him a call. What should I do? Should I send a thank you e-mail today and say I looked over the benefits and look forward to speaking to him next week? Does it look bad that it's almost 4 days after the interview?

I agree, it should have been sent immediately after the interview. But you have nothing to lose by sending it now, so I say go ahead & send it. Better late than never.

It is always more thoughtful to take the time and send the interviewer a thank you card or note. It shows that you really took the time to thank them rather than simply writing an e-mail.
