A Poll of actual CNA wages in the U. S. working directly at the bedsideRating: (votes: 0) This is for nursing assistants who perform the duties as outlined by many clinical based hospital or nursing home educational based programs. This poll is also not meant to be used as way to say I really do not have it so bad and in someway cause contentment. unfortunately in our area of iowa, cna's only make about $7 an hour to start, and i believe that is without any experience. I feel that this is a totally unacceptable wage, considering all that they do, But then in the same area nurses don't get paid great either, I feel that many places don't fully appreciate nurses aides. In NY, the nurses aides get bad money.it depends if they work in the LTC's or the hosptials.... LTC=$16.00/hr, Hospital=$13.00/hr(reason I said bad money, is that you need to make about 17 an hour to afford a small 1 bedroom apt in NYC... any part(well... at 17/hr, the bad parts). I barely make that much as an LPN.)--Barbara

I worked in Massachusettes before starting school. I got $12.00 an hour, 10 patients!!!! If I stay at my same job, as an LPN (new grad) I'll make $20.00 an hour.

Here in OK we make 7.00 an hour if we are lucky.

I would like to know who is getting $35.01 or greater and hour as a CNA...if that, what are your nurses making? Is your place highering?:chuckleMy friend, who has experience as and EMT and is an LVN student just got higher in med/surg as a CNA for $13.76, but says most start out at $12.00 (I think its $10 at rest-homes)

Wow, people get paid alot for CNA. I'm a PCA/US and have a base of $7.38/hr. There is no way to afford an apt in this town at that rate unless you work alot of OT or get another job.

Hi..here in SW Florida I do agency work as an in-home aide. My base pay is $10 per hour, but with short hour shifts paying more per hour, it works out that I actually earn about $12.50. Oh, and thanks to everyone who helped me with my Texas catheter problem recently.Mike
