Chemistry or statistics in first semester of adn?

I'll be taking Intro to Nursing and Pharmacology. I need to take chemistry or statistics. Which would be easier? Keep in mind I have 5 children, 2 of which are under 3. Studying conditions are not always optimal around here, The program is a hybrid adn broken into 7 semesters. I'm just needing to get the statistics and chem out of the way for the future rn to msn path.
well consider which is easier for you, math or chemistry. i am a math person so statistics was eaiser for me than chemistry with all those abstract atoms and molecules. read through the course description for each class and figure out which one sounds like it will go better with your other classes. pharmacology is a lot of memorization and understanding. intro to nursing with teach you how to do simple math equations to calculate dosages.... personally i would just leave it with the 2 classes if that is an option. nursing is a totally different way of thinking than other classes and for me it was a lot to adjust to when that was my only class... good luck!

I would take chemistry it has more to do with pharm. and it is an easier class.

That's a heavy load especially with Pharm! I hated statistics with a passion, but that's just me. I'm not sure what chemistry you're taking...chem for nursing professionals or plain ole college chemistry? I once took college chemistry way before nursing it that was tough. As Alma3323 stated, go with chemistry as it has more correlation with pharm! Good luck to ya!

I am struggling with Chemistry right now and we are just a few weeks in. Statistics, on the other hand, I found incredibly simple (although sometimes tedious and time consuming) and had a great time taking. If I had a say, I'd say Stats all the way.

Statistics is needed for a MSN. I would go with Chemistry.

Chem isn't bad I took it over the summer(5wks), and I had 5 kids, I only managed a C but, I passed and that was all that mattered to me.Now I have 6 kids and I'm back at it, lpn to rn. Some advice(mom to mom) try to get help with a baysitter at least a few hours each week to give yourself study time! It's HARD to taking 5-6 credit hour science classes, especially with all the mom responsibilities! Goodluck!

definitely chemistry because it will help you with pharmacology.you can statistics when you have been working as an RN for quite some time. the key to statistics is making sure you have a good professor who can help you incorporate statistics with journal writing (for your intended MSN program).

I am NOT a math person. I'm taking stats right now and got 34 out of 35 on the first exam. It's easy.

statistics in and of itself is easy. it's just a bit of nomenclature and then simple math. it can be tough, though, if you are saddled with a 93 pound 35 year old female speed freak who is more interested in pushing buttons on graphing calculators than theory and long hand practice. it all depends on the instructor. stats is one of those classes you need to select by instructor reputation.
